Our Story
It is incredible how one small idea can grow into something truly special. Since our founding in 2017, The Fund for Northern Tier Development has been rooted in the belief that we all have an inherent responsibility to make a meaningful impact in our community.

With a variety of active priorities and a highly qualified Board of Directors from diverse sectors across the Northern Tier Counties of Bradford, Tioga, and Potter along the Rt. 6 Corridor, we harness the skills and resources to advocate for our communities.

We seek to be innovative in building the region with our priorities being economic development, a comprehensive and well-trained workforce, and an educational system that is adapting and supplying to present and future demands.

We know that a regional effort requires a broad collection of voices and talents. We partner with existing development and chamber organizations to amplify their efforts, not to duplicate or supplant their roles. Working collaboratively, we can focus our resources to educate the public, employers, and policymakers, and provide a vehicle to advocate on behalf of the region.

In addition to our above-named priorities, the Northern Tier is challenged with the growing need for housing, strengthening agriculture, broadband accessibility, the healthcare industry, manufacturing, the energy sector, telecommunications, service and hospitality industries, transportation improvements, cultural and social enhancements, as well as encouraging new residents to the area. Together, we can and will meet these challenges and magnify the best of Northern Tier’s Bradford, Tioga, and Potter Counties.
Our Philosophy
At The Fund for Northern Tier Development, we take pride in being problem solvers who are not afraid to take risks. We believe that with boldness, creativity and heart, there is nothing we can’t accomplish. But above all, our strength lies in teamwork. Each and every one of us has the capability to contribute. With this strength behind us, just imagine what can be achieved together.
